The schedule of the optimal
solution for the example problem (5 products to
be processed in 2 stages) is shown in Figure 1.
In the optimal solution the production of product
C tends to be high since it is the most valuable
product. Also the production of C in the 2 stages
is almost simultaneous in order to reduce
intermediate inventory levels.
